Basic idea is that 3, 4, 7, and 9 died years ago, but not without finding a way to continue their race.
As generations of stitchpunks were made, the original 9 were eventually claimed to be gods, and their adventures considered mere legends.
9 became the god of light and truth and is associated with the Sun and rain.
Just something fun and quick as a belated 5th anniversary drawing for the movie "9" and as a last minute submission to a contest.
